Background:

Dr. Vangsness has worked in the USC Department of Orthopaedic Surgery since 1991. He currently serves as a physician for the USC Department of Athletics and as co-director for athletic medicine. Dr. Vangsness is an active member of many national and international societies. His ongoing areas of research include articular cartilage and meniscus physiology, stem cell/regenerative medicine, allograft tissue transplantation and the rotator cuff. Dr. Vangsness has published dozens of peer-reviewed articles and has lectured nationally as well as internationally. He has also been named Teacher of the Year at USC Department of Orthopaedic Surgery three times.
