Background:
Dr. Benbassat, a native of Bulgaria, received his medical degree from Higher Medical Institute Plovdiv, Bulgaria. He completed his residency in anesthesiology at the same institution in 1988. In 1989 he immigrated to Israel and started an additional 6-years residency at Elias Sourasky Medical Center, Sackler Medical School, Tel-Aviv University. In 1996, after completing his Israeli boards, he received a position as a visiting assistant professor in clinical anesthesiology at USC, Los Angeles. Since 2001, Dr. Benbassat has served as an assistant professor at the Department of Anesthesiology of Keck school of Medicine, USC. During 2000 - 2001, Dr. Benbassat served as a clinical coordinator at Los Angeles County + University of Southern California Medical Center. Today he is intermittently responsible for the scheduling of anesthesia teams and acting as a clinical coordinator at the same hospital.
