Background:

Richard H. Lee, MD is board certified in both maternal fetal medicine and obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He graduated from the University of California at Berkeley with a major in molecular and cell biology and a minor in peace and conflict studies.  His medical doctorate was obtained at New York Medical College and his post graduate training was performed at the University of Southern California.


Dr. Lee is a member of the American College of Obstetrician Gynecologists, Society of Maternal Fetal Medicine, American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine, and Society for Gynecologic Investigation. He is also a working member of the California Maternal Quality Care Collaborative (CMQCC) Hemorrhage Task Force, which is actively trying to reduce the overall maternal death rate in California from bleeding complications at the time of delivery. He is also involved with the CMQCC Preeclampsia Task Force, which is actively trying to reduce the overall maternal death rate in California from preeclampsia. Dr. Lee is certified by the Fetal Medicine Foundation and the Nuchal Translucency Quality Review program to provide first trimester screening for Down Syndrome and Trisomy 18.


He teaches fellows, residents, and medical students at USC Medical Center and is the associate fellowship director for maternal fetal medicine. Dr. Lee is actively involved in pregnancy-related research.
