Background:

Dr. Gonzalez directs the intra-operative monitoring services at University Hospital and LAC+USC Medical Center.  Intra-operative monitoring reduces risk and improves outcomes during spinal or vascular surgery.  Dr. Gonzalez completed a research fellowship at Harvard University and a clinical fellowship at UCLA in neurophysiology before joining the faculty at USC in 2006.  He is interested in brain implant devices for the treatment of advanced Parkinson disease and intractable epilepsy. He is co-director of the Neurology Residency Program.
