The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences offers a complete range of clinical services to the population of Los Angeles and beyond. Our specialists have expertise in both general psychiatry and many subspecialties, including child, forensic, geriatric, and consultative and liaison psychiatry.

Ongoing programs include:

  • Schizophrenia
  • Mood disorders
  • Anxiety
  • Childhood learning disorders and hyperactivity
  • Child abuse
  • AIDS and aging
  • Cross-cultural studies – which employs a multilingual staff, including those fluent in Spanish, Korean and Farsi

Through USC-affiliated hospitals and clinics, the department's clinical services include 24/7 consultation, outpatient evaluation and treatment and psychiatric hospitalization for advanced diagnostic and therapeutic programs.
