Family Medicine - Physician Assistant

The Family Medicine Physician Assistant Program is recruiting a full-time faculty member. This is a new position and we are looking for a PA with teaching experience and is experienced enough to teach at least two of the following topics: Geriatrics, Rheumatology, Nephrology, Pediatrics, or Emergency Medicine.

The successful candidate will be a core faculty member who is charged with ensuring that all student and course related activities are delivered in a means that is consistent with program and University policies. Core faculty responsibilities include:

•    Collaboration in all program policies and decision-making processes
•    Teaching in the didactic and clinical phases of the program
•    Course instructional design and development
•    Evaluation and assessment of students
•    Student advisement
•    Scholarly activities, e.g., research, professional presentations, etc.
•    Service to the program and the University
•    Participate in the selection process of entering students
•    Participate in grant related activities
•    Knowledge regarding all facets of the ARC-PA accreditation process
•    Supervisory oversight of program support staff
•    Assist in clinical site development and monitoring as needed
•    Computer skills, e.g., Excel, Microsoft Word, etc.

Qualifications include: Master’s degree (doctorate preferred), graduate of an accredited PA program, NCCPA certified and licensed to practice in the state of California, valid DEA certificate, three years of clinical, and two years of teaching in a PA program. This position requires the individual to be clinically active (up to 20% time) precepting students. Academic appointment is a non-tenure position at the Keck School of Medicine of USC. Compensation is competitive with excellent University benefits.
